IDENTIFYING DANGEROUS SNAKES IN AMERICA
RATTLESNAKES

Location: A venomous snake unique to the Americas. There are some
different ones that are common to some areas but they are mostly
found in desert and rocky places.
Identification: Comes in a variety of shapes and colors. The most
distinct characteristics are a diamond or triangle like pattern on
its back. These snakes are mostly recognized by the rattle on the
tale. The snake will normally shake the rattle to make a distinct
sound to warn enemies or those intruding on it. It has fold back
fangs in its head meaning that the fangs are folded backwards ( out
of the way in case it bite its own tongue ) and are only erected if
needed. Here is how the rattle sound.
Characteristics: The rattle gets bigger as the snake gets older. It
is however possible for the rattle to break of due to wear so do not
be misguided by that. Its venom is not of the strongest but it is danerous non the less. Rattlesnakes are not known to be over
aggressive but do not take chances.
